What is NDA  examination 

NDA examination refers to the National Defence Academy examination, which is a competitive entrance exam conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in India. The NDA exam is held twice a year and is open to candidates who aspire to join the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force as officers. It is a two-step selection process that includes a written examination followed by an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB). The written exam consists of two papers: Mathematics and General Ability Test (GAT), which assesses a candidate's English proficiency, general knowledge, and reasoning ability. Successful candidates are then selected for further training at the National Defence Academy.


Qualification:- 

The qualification requirements for NDA are as follows:

1. Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India or a subject of Bhutan or Nepal.
2. Age Limit: The candidate must be between 16.5 and 19.5 years of age at the time of commencement of the course. There is a relaxation in the upper age limit for candidates belonging to certain categories.
3. Educational Qualification:

   - For Army Wing: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board or university.
  
   - For Air Force and Naval Wings: The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects from a recognized board or university.

4. Physical Standards: The candidate must meet the prescribed physical standards set by the UPSC and the respective Services Selection Board (SSB).

5. Marital Status: Only unmarried male candidates are eligible to apply for NDA.

It is important to note that meeting the eligibility criteria does not guarantee selection. The final selection is based on the candidate's performance in the written examination, interview, and medical examination conducted by the SSB.
